Alcohol & Drugs: Community

Change@28b

What is it?

A community alcohol and drug programme for people over the age of 18 living in Islington who want to reduce and stabilise their alcohol or drug use.

How can I get help from this service?

Unfortunately, you can’t refer yourself; you have to be referred by your GP, housing provider, drug and alcohol service, probation or the court service, etc., but you can ask them to contact us.

How long will my contact with the service last?

Three days a week for 16 weeks, and you can attend aftercare groups for up to a year after completion if you need extra support.

What kind of support will I get?

Following an assessment, you and your keyworker will design your treatment together. This can include one to one counselling, group work, creative courses, mutual aid (like AA, NA and Eagle Group) and complementary therapies, all designed to give you the tools to go back into the community and continue your recovery.

If you complete the course and are abstinent, you can move to Recovery@28b, a 16-week intensive abstinence course to help you stay abstinent.

We also have a number of skilled in-house education, training and employment (ETE) workers who can help you to access courses or assist you in your job/apprenticeship search.
