Birmingham Navigators Referral Form
If you are uncertain if your referee is a good fit for our service please contact Mark Byrne the team lead on: 07542 800 043 or mbyrne@cranstoun.org.uk to discuss their case
The Birmingham Street Navigators Team at Cranstoun support individuals who have existing access to accommodation but are continuing to engage in street activity and are struggling to adjust to reintegration and the use of their accommodation on a regular basis. Our team help develop support plans that allow the referred user to adjust and reintegrate over long periods of support based on their needs.
To nominate an individual, they must meet the following essential criteria:
- Has accommodation, but needs support returning to it
- Has recourse to public funds
- Is engaging in ‘street activity’ (rough sleeping, ASB, begging, etc.)
- Is a single adult/couple (no dependent children)
- Client has given consent expressed willingness to engage and agreed to be nominated for the service
Additionally, citizens nominated with two or more of the additional needs showcased below have a higher chance of having their referral accepted:
- Mental ill health
- Offending, current or historic
- Exclusion or risk of exclusion from services
- Substance use
- Repeated periods of homelessness
