An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cranstoun for a general administrator as part of the Sandwell Service.

The administrator is a really important role who will make a real difference in supporting the service to be as good as it can be. The post holder will look forward to a challenging, dynamic, and rewarding work environment, in which finding a balance between team working and using initiative is important. The ability to develop good working relationships is essential.  The General Administrator is responsible for providing effective admin support to teams and colleagues across Sandwell so the organisation can work well and do well.

As part of an integrated admin team, you will need to be a team player as well as being able to work on your own initiative. You will need excellent communication skills as you will be providing a welcoming and informative front of house and telephone service to all our customers.  The role will also include the generation of prescriptions so attention to detail is key, you will also be supporting and coaching colleagues across our services with IT and administration queries.

You will need to have good written and computing skills and be able to work confidently with all Microsoft programs and a case management system. You will also need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines. We need someone who is organised and efficient to ensure the day-to-day workload is managed effectively. You will also need to be flexible and creative, with the ability to transfer your skills from one area of expertise to another.

As first point of contact either by phone or in person, you will be expected to deal with our service users in a non-judgmental, open and honest manner, making them feel comfortable and welcome when using our service

Core service hours are Mon – Fri 9 – 5 but there will be a requirement of some out of hour cover including some evening cover 5-7pm Wednesday.
