Swanswell support workers are responsible for offering practical support to service users so that they can change their lives and be happy. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with people. You’ll work with service users in the community and their own homes, supporting them to develop skills and work towards independent, fulfilling and enjoyable lives. You will deliver high-quality person-centered housing support.
Support workers manage a caseload of people, which may include children, young people, and adults, helping them to learn and develop skills that will help them to make sustainable changes to their lifestyle. This may include supporting them to:
- prevent homelessness by finding and/or maintaining accommodation
- live within supported accommodation
- live safely and independently in their own home
- access primary health care services
- improve and maintain mental health and wellbeing
- maximize their income
- budget money and pay bills
You’ll need to have good writing and computing skills and be able to work confidently with all Microsoft programs. You’ll also need to be very organized, and have the ability to work to deadlines
