Cranstoun Dudley is a safe, welcoming hub for children, young people and families, bringing together integrated support under one roof. We help young people access the right support at the right time, whether they need information, advice, emotional wellbeing support, mentoring, youth social prescribing, family support, or help around alcohol and other drugs. You can talk to us about what matters to you, with no judgement and at your pace.
Who the service is for
The service is for young people aged 11 to 18 with a Dudley connection. Support may continue up to age 25 when there are additional needs or where we are helping someone move safely into adult services.
A young person does not need to be ready to stop using substances to talk to us.
- Young people can ask for help themselves – complete the online referral form, attend a ROUTES drop in, book an appointment online or call/email the office and ask to speak with a Here4YOUth worker
- Parents, carers and professionals can complete the online referral form (with the consent of the young person),contact Here4YOUth for advice or to ask for support for a young person.
- We can meet young people in a place that feels comfortable, introduce ourselves and explain how we may be able to help.
Support available
- Information and advice about alcohol, drugs, in a way that makes sense for the young person’s age and situation
- Practical support to help young people stay as safe as possible and reduce risks
- One-to-one support for young people who want to talk things through, make changes or think about their next steps
- Focused sessions, group work or workshops around alcohol, drugs, choices and staying safe
- More regular support for young people who need help over time or want to stop, including checking in, agreeing goals and reviewing how things are going
- Support to access health or medical help when this is needed.
- Support with wider wellbeing needs, family relationships, routines, school or practical worries
- Working alongside family members, carers, schools, health services or other professionals when this is helpful and agreed.
- Smoking and vaping support for children and young people aged 16-18 or those not in education.
- Easy access to clinical support and prescribing when required/appropriate
- Naloxone provision where identified as appropriate
What to expect
A Here4YOUth worker will contact you in the way agreed. We will listen without judgement, talk through what is happening and agree what support may help. If ongoing support feels useful, we will make a simple plan together and check in on how things are going.
For parents, carers and professionals
If you are worried about a young person’s alcohol or drug use or wider wellbeing, you can contact us for advice and support. We work with young people, families and professionals to understand what is happening, help to keep people safe and help find the right next step.
When Immediate Help Is Needed
If a young person is in immediate danger, needs urgent medical help, is in mental health crisis, or there are urgent safeguarding worries, emergency or specialist support should be contacted straight away. Here4YOUth can help with ongoing support, but we are not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 999.
