Here4YOUth: A new service for young people in Dudley

Posted on: 15 November, 2019

Here4YOUth is a new integrated service for young people across the Dudley borough. It offers a one stop shop to young people, and a safe space to talk about what’s on their mind.

The service is led by Cranstoun, working alongside other voluntary sector partners.

Here4YOUth, in Castle Street Dudley, is a welcoming centre where young people can drop-in and meet our friendly team. Here4YOUth is here to help with a range of emotional health and wellbeing needs including universal, targeted and specialist support. The centre has been developed through co-production with young people, who will also crucially be part of the delivery team.

Some of the support available includes someone to talk to, receiving condoms, chlamydia testing, stop smoking advice, access to activities, sexual health clinics through Brook, volunteering opportunities, support around benefits/housing/budgeting and employment training. Here4YOUth also provides social prescribing for young people. This is to help young people make connections they can’t always make for themselves.

Here4YOUth also hosts SWITCH, the drug and alcohol service for young people in the borough.

Vicky Branch, our Here4YOUth Service Manager said: “We are very excited to widen the support we can offer young people. Some young people experience challenges throughout the important teenage years and we want to be by their side doing as much as we can, to ensure a smooth passage to adulthood.”
