We welcome the release of the Dame Carol Black Review (Part II) published today, which has examined the harm that drugs cause, the serious violence they fuel and the routes to prevention, treatment and recovery.
We pledge to work to support the government and partners on a local and national level to act on the recommendations in this review to improve the delivery of drug interventions. Our community services are uniquely positioned to support statutory partners at a time when drug-related deaths and drug-related harms are at record levels. Whilst we applaud the £80 million funding for drug & alcohol treatment, we recognise that robust and sustained multi-year funding is essential to support the ambitions of the Dame Carol Black review.
