Role Information Pack

Overview and role purpose:

Cranstoun Birmingham Service is the adult service provider which offers support for people within the following areas: Mental Health, Vulnerable Adults, Vulnerable Families, Domestic Abuse and Rough Sleepers.

Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with those who use our services and their families to address health and wellbeing, economic and housing related support needs.

Mental Health & Housing Volunteers assist the Housing and Welfare Lead Workers to deliver interventions to support the people who use our services with achieving their goals, improving their quality of life and making them feel safe.

Main location:
Central Birmingham

Responsible to:
Team Leader

Description of tasks:

  • Support the Lead Workers whilst delivering 1-1 interventions
  • Support the Lead Workers to attend outreach appointments
  • Support those who use our services with completing housing and benefit applications
  • Contact various agencies on our Service Users behalf
  • Support those who use our services to attend appropriate meetings
  • Undertake any relevant tasks identified by your Team Leader

Training and support:

As a volunteer at Cranstoun you will have access to a range of training opportunities relevant to the above tasks as well as opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge in other areas related to the client group.

You will be allocated a Team Leader who will conduct regular supervision with you and act as your first point of call during your time volunteering with the partnership.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to directly support the Team Leader and Lead Workers to help with delivering a world class service.

This is a great opportunity to develop new skills and gain experience in the Health and Social Care sector.
