Marking 50 years of Cranstoun

Posted on: 11 November, 2019

Cranstoun turns 50 this year. We have been taking the opportunity to reflect on our own journey from our beginnings in 1969, through each decade to the present day. If you haven’t already checked out our timeline, do take a look – Cranstoun’s 50th Timeline. It really does demonstrate how we have grown and adapted to better meet the needs of the people we exist for. It also shows what a wealth of knowledge and expertise we have to give as an organisation.

Our 50th celebrations culminate this week in our week-long art exhibition, ‘Expressions of Recovery II’. It’s the second time we have showcased our service users’ talents in this way – each piece of art has been selected to feature experiences of individuals at all stages of their recovery journey. To understand further the artwork that is presented, the narrative beside each piece describes the artist’s point in time when they produced it.

The art exhibition runs all week from Monday 11 November to Friday 15 November (9.30am-6pm). It is free to access, so please do take time out and pop along.

Also available at the exhibition, by donation, is a book featuring a collection of work, all written by our service users. There are some powerful reflections to inspire us all.
