Support Our Work

Volunteer With Us

Our volunteers are extremely important to us. They bring new skills, fresh perspectives, local community links and make Cranstoun an even more diverse and vibrant organisation.

Volunteering in this field can be challenging at times, but it’s also fun and incredibly rewarding. You’ll get to work alongside and learn from a dedicated team, gain valuable experience and receive on-the-job training.

What does it take to be a volunteer?

You’ll need to be able to commit to a few regular hours every week or so, a passion for helping people and an interest in what we do.

In return, we can offer you structured training sessions to support you while you volunteer with us. The training covers the following topics:

  • Harm Reduction
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Self-Awareness
  • Boundaries and Confidentiality
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Dual Diagnosis
  • Safeguarding
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy

Investing in Volunteers

We are proud to have been awarded the Investing in Volunteers accreditation, the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
