About the Service

Here4YOUth Oxfordshire is a specialist children and young people’s service delivering harm-reduction, early intervention and whole-family support for those affected by substance use. We work with children and young people aged 8–25, and their families, offering trauma-informed, strengths-based support across Oxfordshire.

About the Role

As a Family & Affected Others Support Volunteer, you will use your lived or learned experience to support children, young people and families who are affected by someone else’s substance use.

Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will contribute to assessments and co-deliver group work, helping families build resilience, strengthen communication and feel less alone in their experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Supporting staff with trauma-informed, whole-family assessments

· Co-facilitating group sessions for children, young people and families

· Helping create safe, welcoming and inclusive group environments

· Building trusting, supportive relationships with families

· Signposting families to further support and resources

· Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and confidentiality at all times

You don’t need formal qualifications – we’re looking for people who bring:

· Empathy, compassion and a non-judgemental approach

· Confidence working with families and young people

· Reliability and commitment to training and supervision

· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

· Respect for boundaries, confidentiality and diversity
